A Splash of PINK!!!

*Trying my best to have a review up this coming Tuesday, Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" is going to be next, but Good Charlotte's "Cardiology" was recently released so don't know which one I want to post.

This entry is filled with PINK from beginning to end! First up on the list is the music video for P!nk's "Raise Your Glass", the first single off her upcoming greatest hits album, which has already hit the top ten here in the US. The video, which was released two days ago sides with the underdogs in everyday life. P!nk is making a statement in the video, as she has always done in the past. There is so much going on throughout the video, from a prom scene, to a sumo wrestler, to a priest, but somehow P!nk makes it work somehow. The video is fun and cute, but it holds a serious message which P!nk tries to get across with her lyrics. P!nk has has a career that has spanned a decade so a greatest hits album was expected. "Raise Your Glass" is a great choice for a single and the accompanying video just increase the power of it all. How does the video measure up to P!nk's previous work?

The only other original song off P!nk's greatest hits album leaked yesterday and I must say I feel it will be another hit for the singer. "F***ing Perfect", you can fill in the *'s, is a ballad telling everyone that they are perfect just the way that they are. The message of the powerful track follows in the footsteps of "Raise Your Glass", but take a completely different approach. P!nk is one of the few that can release an empowering song and provide that vocals that will cause people to feel what the lyrics are saying. A tone of sadness and anger come across and I think it falls under the category of her best work. With this song as evidence, I cannot wait for P!nk's next full studio album. I guess a greatest hits album will have to hold me off till then.

Finally, The Queen of Pink, Jeffree Star recently released a track that he said was for his fans who felt like they had ever been bullied. "Kiss Me Better" is a completely different side of the artist and shows a different sound from him as well. It is a nice, almost ballad, from someone who is known for his very provocative lyrics and style. It is nice to see this type of song from Star and I actually feel like I am seeing the real him. Star wants everyone to know that they are "perfect the way you are" and I am sure that message will cause many to feel like they can relate to the song. The song is slow, but does not lack any talent in any way. Fans of Star will be surprised by the change, but they will not be disappointed by what they hear. I like it, do you?
